Fridge

Dishwasher

The wood stove has been thought of as an emergency heater. If there were no power in -40° Celcius, then the water pipes would have been frozen with very bad consequences. If one finds free or cheap woods, then it could and rather should be used as a main source of heating to reduce the electricity bills in winter time.
If you do use the wood stove, please remember to clean the chimney at least once a year to remove the creosote and avoid a fire. The wood stove was used in the winter of 2004/2005 and the chimney has been cleaned the next summer.
